NFC South Draft Grades

1. Carolina Panthers- B+

Round 1 • Pick 16 (16) • EDGE Brian Burns

Round 2 • Pick 5 (37) • OT Greg Little

Round 3 • Pick 37 (100) • QB Will Grier

Round 4 • Pick 13 (115) • EDGE Christian Miller

Round 5 • Pick 16 (154) • C Ross Pierschbacher

Round 6 • Pick 40 (212) • T Dennis Daily

Round 7 • Pick 23 (237) • WR Terry Godwin

The panthers had a very good draft however the trade up for Greg Little made little sense if you truly though Greg Little was the best on the board fine but Jawaan Taylor was their and probably is the better prospect so that decision is iffy, other than that I love the burns pick he fits the multiple scheme they want to run this year and he was my number 4 player and the panthers got him at 16. The Pierschbacher pick was very good to improve the interior of this line of Cam and speaking of him, I don't understand the choice to go with a rookie QB in the third round who is already 25 when you think Cam is still your franchise guy. Now I know it sounds like I'm slandering this teams draft but I really like it but some decision that were made, others were kind of head scratching, but in all a very good draft for the Panthers.

2. New Orleans Saints - B

Round 2 • Pick 16 (48) • C Erik McCoy

Round 4 • Pick 3 (015) • DB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson

Round 6 • Pick 4 (177) • S Saquan Hampton

Round 7 • Pick 17 (231) • TE Alize Mack

Round 7 • Pick 30 (244) • LB Kaden Ellis

I really don't think you guys understand how much I wanted to put the Saints at number one they got a great replacement for Max Unger and a very versatile and good player to add to their secondary in CGJ, I’m not very fond of the Hampton pick because you had just got Gardner Johnson however then you come back and take a guy like Alize Mack who could possibly come in at your TE two spot from day one and finally get some linebacker depth and some special teams work from Kaden Ellis. This probably was the best draft in the division but I hear people right now saying “how can they have the best draft when they didn’t even have a first round pick” which is exactly the reason they sit here at two.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- B-

Round 1 • Pick 5 (5) • LB Devin White

Round 2 • Pick 5 (37) • CB Sean Bunting

Round 3 • Pick 30 (94) • CB Jamel Dean

Round 3 • Pick 35 (99) • S Mike Edwards

Round 4 • Pick 5 (107) • DE Anthony Nelson

Round 5 • Pick 7 (145) • K Matt Gay

Round 6 • Pick 35 (208) • WR Scott Miller

Round 7 • Pick 1 (215) • DT Terry Beckner Jr.

Despite the Bucs having a great first round pick and even taking some really good players like Jamel Dean and Anthony Nelson at good value this team needed to address everywhere but corner. This team took 3 corners high in the past two years and you come right back and take 2 more on day two it’s just odd considering the fact that the pass rush and both lines could use some work. Although Devin White will come in and be a good player and a leader on this defense, you hopefully solved the kicking woes with Matt Gay and overall the draft wasn't bad it really was the fact that they neglected to take positions of need.

4. Atlanta Falcons- C

Round 1 • Pick 14 (14) • G Chris Lindstrom

Round 1 • Pick 31 (31) • T Kaleb McGary

Round 4 • Pick 9 (111) • CB Kendall Sheffield

Round 4 • Pick 33 (135) • DE John Cominsky

Round 5 • Pick 14 (152) • RB Quandree Ollison

Round 5 • Pick 34 (172) • CB Jordan Miller

Round 6 • Pick 30 (203) • RB Marcus Green

To start the two lineman taken at the top of the draft are very good but the falcons didn’t need to trade up so much to get McGary, if you truly needed a tackle here and wanted to trade up Jawaan Taylor was still on the board and frankly could have traded down to get Lindstrom and somewhere around 20, not having a second or third hurts this team but the Kendall Sheffield pick is good to get a fast and athletic corner who can learn from one of the best in Desmond Trufant. I understand the reasoning to draft 2 backs but I do believe that retaining Tevin Coleman at the price he got would have made more sense, I also believe that the Jordan Miller pick could be an under the radar good pick because he is technically sound and a very good corner he stood underneath the shadow of Byron Murphy but also performed very well with his time at Washington.
